How do I fix sqeaky brakes and a low speed

Asked by Nov 19, 2013 at 05:08 AM about the 2005 Alfa Romeo 147

Question type: Maintenance & repair

When brakes get hot they squeal at a slight touch of the brake pedal, not with hard braking

Inspect the pads and rotors for abnormal wear. Take the pads out of the caliper and clean everything up and relube the caliper pins and contact points, and reinstall.

I would change the pads to a more expensive, better material- usually, squealing is because the pad composition is too hard- get something nice from an Alfa specialist
