I have a 2002 1.2 polo after opening the bonnet there was oil (a good bit under the engine) starts up fine , no engine light on dash etc , checked oil levels , a little higher than it should be so no problem there , is this something i can just ignore? Thanks!

If oil was full after this,it may have been over filled, but this is not good ,because the oil you seen may have came from a seal, keep close eye on oil level for a few day,s to make sure it did not blow a seal.

I have only bought the car about 3 months ago only 70k on the clock! I have never put in oil so is it possible it has been over filled since before I bought it!?
