Service light Vauxhall Signum

Asked by Jun 24, 2017 at 08:00 PM about the 2005 Vauxhall Signum

Question type: Maintenance & repair

My 05 Vauxhall signum 1.9 cdti service
light keeps coming on. I have had it
serviced and the light switch off only for it
to come back on a few miles down the
road. It puts the car into partial limp mode
and then resets when I turn the engin off
and on again only to be repeated. Any
advice please

The most likely cause of your problem that happens on these 1.9- litre Vauxhall diesel engines is that the EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) has become very clogged/gummed up. If you're hands on you can probably remove it and clean it thoroughly or you could ask a garage to clean it or replace it. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
