Engine turns, but doesn't fire up. Hi. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe 2001. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. The check engine light comes on and gives a code of U0003. If I use Easy Start it fires up straight away. I can bump start it aswell. But it can start every day for 2 weeks, and then for some reason it doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks

Intermittant faults can be very hard to trace, but it sounds as if you have a problem somewhere with the ignition system. The fault cose you have could point to a multitude of different things and I think you're only course of action will be to take it to a garage for a second opinion, or arrange for the breakdown service to come and see the car when the fault is actually occuring. Let us know if you manage to cure the problem.

Thanks for that. I have taken it to one garage and they said, as you have, the code is general, so apart from looking at every wire connection, they don't know. I left Santa fe with them for few days, and of course it started every time! Good idea to call out breakdown. I'll try that. I'll post if I get it sorted. Thanks
