How many wires go to the starter on a galaxy 500 1974 400 motor

There will only be one big one that will hook directly to the starter, unless it had the retro done then it will have one big wire and one small wire that will go to the solenoid on top of the starter. Note there are not very many of the retro units left alive

Just one, the solenoid is mounted on the inner fender inder the hood.
