Hi GuruPVN, perhaps you could tell us a little bit more about the car and the problem? What year is your car? Is it petrol or diesel? Is it manual or automatic? Will it start again after it's cut out? Do you have any warning lights on the dash? Let us know and we'll do our best to help.

Hi there. The Matrix is an 07, 1.6 manual. No lights comes on.It starts up straight away. while driving, the car jerks when taking foot off or on accelerator. there's no smoothness. Also when under stress, (going up a steep hill), I can feel a slight miss on the engine. Thanks

Hi there, from what I can tell it would appear that the problem could be related to the coils/leads going to the coils. Over time the heat in the engine bay can lead to the wiring and connectors going brittle which can bring about the problems you're experiencing. It could also be a variety of other engine sensors, but I'd look at the coils/wiring to the coils first. Hope this helps, and let us know how you get on. Bob
