Parking heater / Remote Climate control or Heated Windscreen

Asked by Mar 09, 2017 at 10:41 PM

Question type: General

I am looking for a UK car which has either the option of turning the climate system on remotely or it has a heated windscreen. I know of BMW connected services as an example of the former, and know that all Ford cars and now Nissan Qashqai comes with a heated screen. What other UK car manufacturers provide the above option? Are parking heaters the same as Remote climate control? If not, what is it and which UK cars have this option?

Hi samadonline, you can get the heated screen on some Fords, Skodas, MINIs, VW group cars (Golf and Passat and possibly some others, and I think that some Lexus and Mercedes models can be fitted with it too. Ford used to own the rights to the Quickclear system which is why only Fords used to have this, but other manufacturers have now developed their own systems. They are generally optional or only fitted as standard to high end models. Like the screen parked car heating tends to be fitted to higher end vehicles and different manufacturers call it by different names. It can be retrofitted to any car though - contact for more information.
