2006 Merc. C180K. The engine drives fine. However, when stationery, in park or neutral, it will start missing after 10 to 15 seconds. Restart the engine and the engine is fine , as long as you drive straight away. When cold the engine will idle for 12 minutes before the missing occurs. Is there a simple solution to this?

Hi Pedibus, this is a little bit of a tricky ones as some of the symptoms you're experiencing point to the problem with carbon build up in the cylinder head which is a known problem with this engine and can be very expensive to rectify. However, those with this problem usually experience an engine warning light coming on as well, so it maybe something else. It could be something as simple as a split air intake hose, but you should really take the car to a Mercedes specialist for further diagnosis.Let us know how you get on, and I hope it's not too expensive to rectify.
