Question type: General

I was looking to buy a nissan qashqai,  diesel  but I have now put it on hold,
because of all the concerns on what the new laws will be on diesel cars, until I
know for sure it has put me right off, unfortunately.

It's a tricky question facing many people, and it affects all car manufacturers. According to the plans being made for low emissions zones if you buy a Euro 6 emissions compliant diesel you will be fine. These are the latest cars and are ultra clean. You might also like to ask the question as to whether you really need a diesel? How many miles do you do? If you're mileage is less than 10,000-12,000 miles a year you would probably be better off with a petrol engined car as they are cheaper to buy and have lower running costs when you take into account many of the problems that diesels can suffer from such as blocked diesel particulate filters or the possibility of failed turbochargers.
