when i start my car my radio crackles badly jag x-type 2005 diesel any idea

Usually you get a crackling from a radio due to a bad earth somewhere, either on the back of the radio, or possibly on your starter motor circuit. Does the crackling stop when the car is running? If so I think the fault is more likely with the starter circuit. Hope you can get it sorted out.
