Hi there Duf, no, your clutch pedal should not be three inches from the floor, it should be higher than that. It could be that you have a problem with the clutch hydraulics, most likely the clutch slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. I'd take the car to a Vauxhall specialist for a full diagnosis. If left without being repaired the pedal may drop all the way to the floor and you won't be able to change gear which will leave you stranded. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
