ford ka zetec climate just blowing hot air not cold
Just bought ford kA today and only just noticed later in day when turning temperature gage down that it only blows hot air not cold.I don't know much about cars but it seemed ok when it was being run on test drive but I had no need then to turn down heating as I was cold.I've left message with the small dealer I bought from but just worried it's gonna cost me.keen to know what the fault found be and what sort of cost to fix please.
This sounds like the heater tap. The cable clip that secures the cable for the operation of the heater tap has possibly come adrift. This is located in the engine compartment. Check also inside the vehicle at the vent controls that these cable clips are secured. It sounds like the heater tap is wide open and there is nothing controlling it.
Just to add that I'm sure that if you dropped the car back to the garage you bought the car from it will fix this for you, especially as from the above answer it sounds like a relatively minor repair.
Thanks very much,i had contacted the dealer but they never responded so I decided to take it to wilco motosave yesterday. My brother also said same as you,but the guy in wilco said he knew straight away before looking at the car that it was a common fault with ford,it was the valve that was faulty and they had in the past been inundated with people with same problem.he replaced the part which cost 65 quid which included fitting in about 40 minutes, and it's working now, thank goodness.thanks again though for you information, useful if it happens again I know to check that also. Thank you.
Very pleased you came right. Not so good when you really battle with these things.
