The MINI Cooper S is a sporty version of the retro-styled MINI Hatch supermini. The Cooper S has been present on all three generations of the modern MINI. In the Mk1 car, it was powered by a supercharged 1.6-litre petrol engine, while in the Mk2, it was a turbocharged. The third-generation Cooper S, meanwhile, has a 2.0-litre turbo. All are fast and sporty-feeling, if not quite as much as the JCW (John Cooper Works) versions that sit above them in the MINI range.
