The 2020 BMW 7 Series is part of the sixth-generation of the BMW 7 Series family that saw service between 2015 and 2022. It followed a similar formula to the cars that had gone before, in that it was a showcase for the firm’s various cutting-edge technological developments, and it attempted to inject a little more driver appeal into the luxury limousine recipe than its rivals. However, in cars like this, comfort, refinement, luxury, class and discretion are all far more important factors, and in those areas, some key rivals did a marginally better job.

Is the 2020 BMW 7 Series better than the 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

For our money, no. Both are wonderfully luxurious cars, with lots of space, plush interiors, good practicality, lots of technology, and a sophisticated feel on the move. However, the Mercedes is just a bit better in all the areas that are most important in a luxury limo, namely ride comfort, refinement, and sense-of-occasion from the back seats.
