The Vauxhall Vivaro has had a slightly confusing history. The first-generation version was essentially a rebadged version of the Renault Trafic, and served between 2001 and 2014, not an abnormally long amount of time for a van. Then came the second-gen Vivaro, another rebadged Renault, but that only served until 2019 before being replaced. That was because Vauxhall had by that time been taken over by the PSA Group (which would later become Stellantis), which had van offerings of its own (the Citroen Dispatch/Peugeot Expert) for the Vauxhall to share manufacturing resources with. So, the 2020 Vauxhall Vivaro is the most modern version of Vauxhall's mid-size panel van, and uses the latest commercial vehicle technology that the Stellantis group has to offer.

Strengths:

Affordable and good value
Really good payload
Fuel efficient

Weaknesses:

Poor driving position and cramped cab
Only one roof height available
Could have more safety kit

Is the 2020 Vauxhall Vivaro better than the 2020 Peugeot Expert?

No, but it’s no worse, either, and that’s because aside from some minor aesthetic differences, the two vans are exactly the same. And they’re not alone, either, because exactly the same mechanicals underpin the Citroen Dispatch. And the Toyota Proace. And as of 2022, the Fiat Scudo.
