Good communication

I had arranged to have the car delivered to Manchester on the 13th of December. It arrived about 1700 hours, didn't have time or the light to inspect the car properly, I mentioned that the parcel shelve was missing and was told that it would be posted on to me. I was given an envelope and told all the documents were in it. I discovered that no log book was in it. I rang them the next day and was told that it had been mislaid. I was told if I went to the post office that I would be able to tax the car. I went to the post office Saturday morning and was told that I would have to apply for a new log book which would take until the new year before I could tax the car. It's been over 11 days now no parcel shelve has arrived, I've not been able to test drive the car on the road and the mileage was incorrect that was quoted in the advertisement. Could you please let me know what my options are please, a very dissatisfied customer
