If you’re old enough, you might remember that the Skoda brand was, once upon a time, the butt of many automotive jokes, because its cars weren’t awfully good. The Fabia is one of the models that helped turn that reputation around, and the 2011 Skoda Fabia represents the second generation of the Czech firm’s supermini contender. Not that it was particularly mini, mind. The Fabia was one of the biggest and roomiest cars in the class, making it one of the most practical, and if that wasn’t enough, an estate version was also offered for even more versatility. True to the Skoda way, it was great value for money, too, and it was also a very decent car to drive.

However, if you want as much space and practicality as your money will get you, and you’d ideally like to spend a good deal less of it, then the Skoda is the way to go.
