Quick Summary
The Skoda Fabia Mk4 (2026) is a straightforward, practical, and excellent-value supermini that prioritises comfort and spaciousness. Built on the MQB-A0 platform, it's considerably larger than its predecessor, offering 110mm extra length with 90mm between the axles. This translates to exceptionally generous legroom for front and rear passengers, plus a 380-litre boot—identical to the Volkswagen Golf and larger than the Ford Focus. With rear seats folded, capacity extends to 1,190 litres, making it one of the most practical cars in its class. The cabin quality rivals anything else in the segment, with sophisticated plastics and interior finishes throughout.
The Fabia excels as a comfort-focused car, soaking up bumps impressively whilst remaining quiet and refined. Engine options range from 79bhp to 148bhp in standard models, with the new Fabia 130 offering 174bhp and a sportier experience via a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. Fuel economy is impressive across the range, with claimed figures reaching 56.8mpg for the 1.0-litre TSI manual, whilst CO2 emissions are equally competitive. As a used car, it represents exceptional value, offering more space and equipment than most rivals for a lower price, making it ideal for budget-conscious families and commuters seeking practicality without compromise.
Best for: Budget-conscious families, commuters seeking a practical and comfortable car, and buyers wanting more space and equipment than rivals for less money.
Not ideal for: Those prioritising sporty handling or keen drivers seeking excitement (though the Fabia 130 offers a more engaging option), or buyers requiring a manual gearbox in the performance variant.

The Verdict
You should buy the Fabia if: You're on a budget, seeking a practical and comfortable car for families or commuters, or wanting more space and equipment than rivals for less money.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise sporty handling, seek premium badge appeal, or require a manual gearbox in the performance variant.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Fabia Mk4 (2026) is a strong contender in the used supermini market, offering exceptional value, practicality, and comfort. Whilst rivals like the Volkswagen Polo offer premium appeal and the Seat Ibiza provides stylish design, the Fabia delivers more interior space, a larger boot, and better equipment for a lower price. Its focus on comfort and refinement, combined with impressive fuel economy and low running costs, makes it an excellent choice for budget-conscious buyers prioritising practicality. The Fabia 130 also provides an affordable, engaging driving experience for those seeking more excitement.

What people say
I can recommend Skodas as reliable and sturdy. I drove Skodas as Taxis for many years and more and more Taxi owners adopted them as vehicle of choice for their business.
I love this car! It has exceeded my expectations. Ive had the car for a few days, filled it up for £57 and have driven about 200 miles and there is still over half a tank left. It really is a joy to drive. Gear changing is smooth, it absorbs the bumps in the road really well. Its nippy around town and is really good to drive on the motorways picking up speed very quickly. It doesnt make too much noise when driving on the motorway. The surround sound is brilliant. Its spacious inside. I love the touchscreen functions. Love the fact also that it looks a bit sporty. I highly recommend it.
The Skoda Fabia 1.4 petrol is a cracking little car, packed brim full with useful features. It consistently comes in the top 5 small estate cars. Easy to drive, loads of space, all the safety features, excellent adjustment for seat height, fire and aft adjustment and steering wheel adjustment. Quiet to drive and very economical. Highly recommended
