The 218d is quite sprightly for an MPV. The steering is sharp and accurate, and the engine is quick enough off the mark for gaps in traffic etc. Its spacious with plenty of storage areas. The movable rears seats echo the Toyota Yaris, allowing legroom or boot space as required. The boot is adequate for shopping and large DIY jobs. Standard equipment is good with everything you need including rear wash/wipe. Most other options fall into the nice to have but not essential category. For families the fitted rear tables have a single, adjustable vertical mounting, which is not robust enough and easily broken at the hinge. The centre armrest is an odd design , and again not robust enough when children are present. On the road the diesel is quiet enough, and the cabin feels solid and even after several years, still rattle free. The ride is on the firm side, even without run flat tyres. Interior is premium and a great improvement over cars with acres of boring grey or black plastic. This is a useful vehicle sitting higher for those who need this, and a good spacious alternative to yet another SUV style.
