The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class was part of the third-generation of Mercedes’ smallest car, and the first one that was a more conventional family hatch design rather than the MPV-in-miniature of is predecessors. As a result, it’s more of a direct rival for the likes of the Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf and BMW 1 Series. And it looks smart enough inside and out, the badge is appealing, and there’s plenty of luxury kit. However, the ride is a little firm, and rear headroom and access to the luggage area is a little compromised.
