Overview

Honda has been making the CR-V SUV since way back in 1995, and the 2018 Honda CR-V represents the fifth generation of the model. And as a family SUV, there’s plenty to recommend it. It’s a comfortable, easy and relaxed car to drive, it’s packed with luxury and safety equipment, and it should prove to be very reliable. The vast cabin is roomy enough to carry five adults in reasonable comfort - not a given even in this class of car - and the boot, too, is massive. One word of caution here, though: the car was also available as a seven-seater, but these are worth avoiding because the space surrounding the extra two seats is so tight as to render them largely useless, and they also rob you of quite a bit of boot space.
Strengths:
Relaxed and comfortable to drive
Stellar reliability record
Huge cabin and a vast boot
Weaknesses:
Seven-seat version nowhere near as practical, oddly
Dreadful infotainment system
Some powertrains not very economical
Is the 2018 Honda CR-V better than the 2018 Kia Sportage?
There’s very little in it, because both cars have very similar virtues, including a roomy, smartly-trimmed cabin, generous equipment, impressive reliability, and a relaxed and comfortable driving experience. Which you prefer will come down to personal taste, but used car buyers could be swayed by the fact that the Kia may well have some warranty left, while the Honda won’t.

A very good car build quality is great. If you look after your Honda (regular service etc) it will look after you. My previous Honda was 100k+ bullet proof, oil changes and tyres thats all I had to do.
