The Renault Megane E-Tech has been updated for 2026 with sharper looks, a new battery and extra equipment to help it compete with the latest electric hatchback models. It’s due to reach the UK in late 2026, with prices close to those of the current model.
Here’s what you need to know about the 2026 Renault Megane E-Tech.
2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: Price, Specs and Release Date

2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: styling and dimensions
The updated Renault Megane E-Tech has a classic mid-life facelift, with some subtle changes that give it a fresher, more modern look.
As is usually the case, the biggest changes are reserved for the front of the car. While the headlights and front wings are carried over, the bonnet, bumper, Renault emblem and auxiliary lighting have fresh designs that give the Megane a more edgy look. The eight diamond-shaped lighting units at each side of the bumper are a standout feature that, according to Renault, “help make the car appear wider and more planted.”
Not much has changed elsewhere, but there are new rear light lenses that have a more sculpted look and there's a new Satin Blue paint option.
Most dimensions are unchanged, but the 2026 Megane is 20mm (just under an inch) taller than the current model due to its new battery. We’re assuming this is due to an increased ride height (how high the body sits from the ground), although there’s no official confirmation from Renault.

2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: interior design and practicality
While the Megane’s makeover is mild on the outside, it’s more or less non-existent on the inside. That’s no bad thing because Renault’s interiors are some of the best around, combining appealing design with good-quality materials and an unusually user-friendly mix of screens and buttons.
The infotainment system is an updated version of the outgoing car’s ‘OpenR link’ infotainment system with Google built-in. It now features Google Gemini, which Renault says gives a more conversational voice control function. More than 100 in-car apps are available through Google Play.
Interior dimensions remain the same, so the updated Megane will be family-friendly but not as practical as some rivals. In the current car there’s decent space up front and good legroom all-round, but rear headroom is rather tight and there’s not much space for rear passengers to put their feet.
Boot capacity is about average at 440 litres, but the space is tall and short and there’s a big lip to load items over. Due to the electric motor’s location at the front of the car, there’s no frunk.

2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: motor and driving dynamics
As before, the Megane E-Tech will be available with just one battery/electric motor combo powering the front wheels.
Power output remains at 217bhp, but an all-new 67kWh battery pack replaces the previous 60kWh unit. Maximum range is up from 285 miles to 310 miles and the maximum charging rate has increased from 130kW to 165kW, allowing a 15% to 80% charge in 24 minutes.
Renault says the Megane’s suspension and steering systems have been redesigned and retuned to accommodate the car’s new battery pack and increased height.

2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: price and release date
The new Renault Megane E-Tech is due on sale in the UK in late 2026. Prices haven’t been announced, but could actually drop slightly due to the new battery being cheaper to produce.
A simpler range structure will consist of Techno or Esprit Alpine trims. Techno trim includes 19-inch alloy wheels and a heat pump, while Esprit Alpine adds sportier design elements, a Harman Kardon premium audio system and additional driver assistance systems.
