I use pure water for Polo 4 1.4 BBy engen and the water pump has CREAMY SCUM and water not pure, what could be the problem?
Check the engine oil too, if it is milky colored then I suspect a headgasket problem, if there are no contaminates in the water like sulfer or a high iron content. Using straight water is not a good idea, the cooling systems are designed for a mix of at least 50% antifreeze and 50% water, also straight water does not transfer heat as well as antifreeze so it is not as efficient. A shop can run a block check test to verify if this is the case.
i checked the engine oil it is sill pure dos not seem to have contaminated with any substance.
Ok then I still recommend have the test done just too be on the safe side, if it is not blown then have the cooling system flushed by a machine and the proper mix and Ph stabilizers added to the cooling system. Better safe than sorry later on.
