Question type: Maintenance & repair

Steering lock problem

1 Answer

If you're getting the warning light on the dash it could be that either the software requires updating (there was a Land Rover Technical service update on this no. LTB00290) or, more likely, the lock assembly in the steering column requires replacement. It's a common fault on the Freelander 2 I'm afraid. As a temporary fix you could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so which should reset the system. If you've already sorted this let us know how it was cured!
