I have a Renault Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique which is a 2004 plate. I put £50 of petrol into my car and it is £1.21 a litre. When I switched the engine back on it was saying that I have 270 miles until I need to refuel. This seems extremely low and I'm starting to wonder if my petrol gauge is not working properly.
It depends on the journeys that you have made, what speed you have been doing, the trip counter measures your speed and distance and then calculates, how far you can do on your next fill up, my c-max for a full tank can be 350 up to 384, depends on the speed and distances i do. The question i'm going to ask you, that £50 you have put in, does it give you a Full tank ? if not, thats right, the trip counter has calculated how far you can travel on that £50, if you keep to the speed limit where possible, your find the tank range will go up.
Thanks Mark. I drove out of London at the weekend and the miles didn't go up, even though it was straight roads and I wasn't braking or changes gears. It also said I was only getting 30MPGs which doesn't sound right. I think perhaps there is something wrong with my digital screen
Hi Nat, try googling for a ECU reboot for your car, i did this to my 54 c-max 2.0 Tdci and did notice a change in the MPG, few people don't know about this, give it a google and see what comes up.
