2022 BMW M3 Touring: Price, Specs and Release Date

by Russell Campbell

The new BMW M3 Touring has already been revealed giving BMW a load-lugging performance rival to cars like the Audi RS4 Avant and outgoing Mercedes C63 estate.

BMW M3 Touring Price, Release Date and Rivals

The new BMW M3 Touring made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June and it’s set to go on sale in September 2022 priced from £80,550 or £2,375 more than the saloon it is based on. It’s an alternative to load-lugging fast estate cars such as the outgoing Mercedes-AMG C63 estate and the Audi RS4 Avant.

BMW M3 Touring Power and Performance

The BMW M3 Touring is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine. It produces 503bhp and sends its power through an xDrive four-wheel-drive system, getting the M3 Touring from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds – just a tenth of a second slower than the saloon – and on to a limited top speed of 155mph, or 174mph if you specify the optional M Driver’s Package.

BMW M3 Touring Styling, Interior and Practicality

The BMW M3 gets a striking design courtesy of its gopher-tooth grille, blistered wheel arches, aggressive rear diffuser, quad tailpipes and lowered ride height. Head to the options list and you’ll be able to add liberal splashes of carbon-fibre and choose between 19- and 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Inside, the M3 Touring will get body-hugging sports seats and a sports steering wheel, but also luxury fixtures like leather and a pair of huge infotainment screens.

Why choose the Touring over the regular M3 saloon? Because it has estate-car practicality. The Touring’s 500-litre boot is significantly more practical than the saloon’s 480-litre load bay, making it ideal for the family holiday or if you want the family pooch to experience exactly what 0-62mph in under four seconds feels like.

We’ll have a full review of the new BMW M3 Touring in the coming months.
