Overview

The 2010 Ford Fiesta represented the sixth generation of Ford’s best-selling supermini, and this was the version of the Fiesta that cemented the model’s place in small-car folklore. All Fiestas had been among the most enjoyable cars of their type to drive, but such was the incredible combination of dynamic sharpness on display that the Mk6 stood head-and-shoulders above its rivals in terms of both fun and comfort. The Mk6 was also a much more compelling all-rounder than ever before, with vast improvements in a number of key areas, those areas including practicality, interior quality and technology.
Strengths:
Utterly fabulous to drive
Affordable to both buy and run
Plentiful supply on the used car market
Weaknesses:
Slightly patchy interior quality
Can’t match some rivals for practicality
Reliability merely average
Is the 2010 Ford Fiesta better than the 2010 Vauxhall Corsa?
Pound-for-pound, we reckon that the Mk6 Ford Fiesta is one of the most wonderfully engineered cars of all time: yes, it really is that good. It puts many much, much more expensive cars to shame with its mixture of ride comfort and handling sharpness, which we think borders on perfection. If you like driving, then it’ll thrill you every day, and if you don’t, it’ll make you feel comfortable, safe and in-control. Sizable improvements in practicality, quality and technology make the Mk6 a much better all-rounder than ever before, too, even if it’s still no class-leader in these areas.
