Overview

The BMW M240i is a high-performance version of the BMW 2 Series. When the first-generation 2 Series was launched in 2014, in both coupe (F22) and convertible (F23) forms, the most powerful version was the M235i, with its 322 horsepower, six-cylinder petrol engine, but when that engine was replaced in 2016 with a new 335 horsepower motor, the car became the M240i. It was the most powerful 2 Series coupe until the M2 versions came along, and remained as the most powerful 2 Series convertible. When the second-generation G42 2 Series was launched in 2021 (in coupe form only), the M240i was the fastest version on offer with 382 horsepower. The M2 took over that mantle when it arrived in 2023.
