When the first-generation 3008 was released in 2009, it was some sort of weird mash-up of bodystyles that was part-MPV, part-SUV and part-hatchback. Despite this identity crisis, and the oddball looks that resulted, it was actually quite a good family car. For the second-generation version, though, kicking off with the 2017 Peugeot 3008, the French firm wisely decided to adopt a fashionable SUV body shape so that it could add style to its list of attributes. That’s not the only thing that makes the 3008 desirable, though. It has a roomy and practical cabin that’s interestingly styled and very well made, and it’s stuffed with luxury equipment. It’s a good car to drive, too.

Strengths:

Stylish, well-made interior
Lots of space for passengers and luggage
Well equipped

Weaknesses:

Some might find the driving position awkward
Panoramic roof eats into headroom
Some versions are expensive

Is the 2017 Peugeot 3008 better than the 2017 Seat Ateca?

That depends exactly what you’re after. Both cars are comfortable and nimble on the road, but for outright dynamic prowess, the Seat has a slight edge. That said, the Peugeot is arguably the more stylish car of the pair and has a much more pleasant, sophisticated-feeling interior.
