Overview
Citroen Ami 2026 review | City transport, not a car
The Citroen Ami is one of the strangest new vehicles you can buy in the UK, and also one of the most narrowly focused. It’s electric, tiny, slow and extremely basic, with just enough ability to make short urban journeys cheap and easy – and not a great deal more. For most drivers, its limited speed, range and comfort (plus its left-hand drive status) will be deal-breakers, but for a small minority who want a simple, emissions-free alternative to public transport or a scooter, the Ami does exactly what it sets out to do. It’s not really a car, and it doesn’t pretend to be one – which is both its biggest flaw and its greatest strength.
