Customers say
The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is well-regarded for its spacious interior and economical performance, making it an excellent option for larger families. Owners particularly appreciate features like the media system and the reverse parking camera, which enhance driving convenience. However, some drivers have noted that the boot space is smaller than expected, which can be limiting when traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, it's praised for comfort and practical design, but the limited boot space is a common concern.

Absolutly great car for so many uses, i use it for camoing trios carries everything needed for a complete weekend away, also good for doing booties as all seats drop flat so its almost better than a van but more comfortable. So a versatile allrounder

Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Brilliant cabin, with space for seven and lots of clever features | Not as fun to drive as a Ford S-Max |
| Soft suspension delivers a comfortable ride | Steering is overly light and remote |
| Good looking for an MPV | Some owners report electrical faults |
Quick Summary
The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an exceptionally practical seven-seater MPV that prioritises family comfort and versatility. The second-generation model, which received a facelift in 2016 and was renamed the SpaceTourer in 2018, features a spacious interior with an innovative seating system. Three full-sized middle-row seats slide, recline, and fold individually, whilst third-row seats pop out from the boot floor. The panoramic windscreen, super-skinny pillars, and low window line create an airy cabin with excellent visibility for all occupants. Even with all seven seats deployed, there's still useful boot space, and folding all rear seats creates a vast, flat-floored load area.
Comfort and quietness are prioritised over handling, with a soft suspension that absorbs road imperfections admirably and excellent noise suppression. The range of engines—including turbocharged 1.2-litre PureTech petrol and 1.6 and 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesels—are smooth and flexible, delivering real-world fuel economy of 50-60mpg on longer runs. Running costs are competitive, with fixed-price servicing available from £175 for interim services. The 2016 facelift brought additional equipment enhancements. Whilst the light steering and body roll in corners aren't ideal for spirited driving, the Grand C4 Picasso excels as a relaxed family companion.
Best for: Families needing seven seats, those prioritising interior space and practicality, and buyers seeking a comfortable, quiet, and versatile MPV with excellent visibility.
Not ideal for: Drivers seeking engaging handling or sporty performance, those who prefer a more responsive steering feel, or buyers concerned about potential electrical issues.

| Citroën Grand C4 Picasso | 4/5 | 4.9/5 | 36.5% | 4.3/5 |
| Seat Alhambra | 5/5 | 5.0/5 | 28.4% | 4.3/5 |
| Renault Grand Scenic | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 36.1% | 4.3/5 |
| Ford S-Max | 4/5 | 4.8/5 | 31.2% | 4.4/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Grand C4 Picasso if: You need a practical seven-seater, prioritise interior space and comfort, and value clever design and excellent visibility for family journeys.
Consider alternatives if: You seek engaging handling and sporty performance, prefer responsive steering, or are concerned about potential electrical reliability issues.
Competitive Position: The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an outstanding family MPV that excels in practicality, space, and comfort. Whilst the Seat Alhambra edges ahead on expert and user ratings, the Grand C4 Picasso offers comparable value and a more stylish design. The Ford S-Max provides more engaging driving dynamics, but the Citroën's superior interior versatility and clever seating system make it the better choice for families prioritising space and ease of use. The Renault Grand Scenic is a worthy alternative, though the Citroën's seven-seat capability and innovative design give it a distinct advantage for larger families.
