The Ford Mustang Mach-E is the company’s first all-electric model, so it might seem rather odd that its named after the firm’s long line of muscle cars famed for their V8-engines and smoking rear tyres. This large five-seat SUV takes plenty of styling cues from the original, instantly giving it a feeling of glamour, and the interior quality is also better than you’ll find in any other mainstream Ford model. It’s available with a variety of power outputs, and depending on which one you choose, the driving range varies between average and exceptional. Electric SUV rivals are numerous, and include the Volkswagen ID.4, Mercedes EQA, Kia EV6 and Audi Q4.
