Launched in 2021 as a sports offshoot from the standard i20 hatchback, it forms part of Hyundai's N performance line-up, targeting enthusiasts who still value the practicality of a 352-litre boot. It toughs it out in what is a competitive but now dwindling small hot hatch segment, taking on rivals such as the excellent but now-defunct Ford Fiesta ST and the Volkswagen Polo GTI. With its sharp handling, peppy turbocharged engine, and well-appointed interior, the i20 N is a strong contender. However, the ride is very firm.
