The Mercedes-Benz EQS is less a conventional electric car and more a rolling demonstration of what modern luxury EVs can be. It majors on comfort, refinement and range, delivering a hushed and cosseting experience that feels closer to a private jet than a sports saloon. Its technology is genuinely class-leading, interior space and quality are outstanding, and the real-world range is among the best you’ll find at this price point. Speaking of which, it’s expensive, undeniably large and not the most involving car to drive. However, if your priorities are serenity, sophistication and long-distance comfort, the EQS makes a compelling case as an electric alternative to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
