Mitsubishi has a long history of building tough 4x4s: cars like the Mitsubishi Shogun know how to handle themselves off-road. With the Eclipse Cross, Mitsubishi has taken a very different approach. Although four-wheel-drive versions are available, most are two-wheel drive and it’s not really designed as an off-roader. Instead, this compact SUV is focused on road driving, with the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Kia Sportage firmly in its sights.
