The Seat Mii (2012-2021) is a stylish city car mechanically identical to the VW Up and Skoda Citigo. Initially offered with 1.0-litre petrol engines in 59bhp or 74bhp versions, it delivers impressive practicality with a 251-litre boot and comfortable seating for four. From 2019, the petrol model was discontinued, replaced by the Seat Mii Electric with an 83bhp motor and 161-mile WLTP range. The electric version proved popular as one of the cheapest EVs available, offering longer range than the Fiat 500e, Honda e, and Mini Electric despite its modest 36.8kWh battery.

Both petrol and electric versions are excellent to drive, with eager handling and a surprisingly comfortable ride suitable for town and open-road use. Running costs are exceptionally low: the electric model costs just 4.4p per mile on standard tariffs, whilst the petrol achieves 45-50mpg. Insurance, servicing, and parts are all affordable. The Mii Electric features heated front seats, cruise control, air conditioning, and lane keep assist as standard. Avoid the automatic petrol version and basic S trim without air conditioning. The Mii was discontinued in 2021 with no direct replacement.
