Overview
The Ford Ranger Wildtrak name dates back to the very first generation of Ford's pickup truck that was available in the UK from 1998. Back then it was a special edition that was introduced towards the end of the vehicle's life to appeal to buyers who might use their truck as a stylish leisure vehicle or family car, rather than as a workhorse. The upgrades were largely cosmetic. In later generations (there have now been four), the Wildtrak name is used for regular high-spec versions, which have chunkier, more aggressive styling and more luxury kit than lesser Rangers.
