Having picked up an M135i yesterday to replace a three year old 125i the differences are: More noise in the 135 and particularly road roar. A feeling that the materials are all lighter and slightly less durable. The tech has certainly jumped forwards but the switchgear has not. After day one of ownership I would say it’s different for sure, A better car? That depends what you cherish. The new model is very - very fast in 135 spec, but the overall “feel”, the previous car was frankly ahead. The piped engine sound in the new 135 is, well err, embarrassing. But you can opt to turn it off. I guess the BMW engineers realised it needed the ‘off’ option!
Beautiful car, 3 door 118d M Sport Shadow Edition. Smooth and comfortable drive, 2.0 litre 148bhp and manual 6 speed perfect combination providing great mpg.
Great car , comfy, reliable, fun to drive, economical
