The BMW M2 does everything an M car should, delivering a huge amount of driving fun in a compact, rear-wheel-drive coupe package. It might be the baby of the M range, but in no way does it feel like a poor relation to an M3 or M4. It is also available with a manual gearbox: quite a rarity nowadays, and something that should be celebrated. However, keep in mind that dedicated sports cars such as the Porsche 718 Cayman can be even more involving to drive and cost a similar amount, albeit with less space for passengers and luggage.
