We didn't even bother going to see it. After seeing his google comments score of 1.9 and reading the reviews, we thought it safer to go elsewhere. If you are considering buying a vehicle from here do some research first. I'm so glad i did.

Didnt think Id be able to afford a Citroen C1 Flair so was really pleased when I found this car in my price bracket. Its a smart looking car inside and out. Having never driven anything less than a 1.4 engine I was apprehensive about dropping to a 999cc. I no longer need to do regular long distance motorway driving but this little car doesnt struggle when accelerating upto 70 miles per hour ( foot not hard to floor and felt it could easily gone past 70 without any effort). Its a more comfortable ride than I expected for a small car and its nippy. Yes it does have a bit of a roar when pulling away in 1st . Its Toyota engine has 3 cylinders so perhaps that accounts for the roar . Pulls away better in 2nd. Like the fact its a chain as against cambelt - no expensive repairs. The front seats are roomy whilst the back a little neat but enough for my needs and to fit 2 grandchildren in. Whilst the boot is small and compact . Generally , I wont be transporting rear passengers often ( apart from the dog ) so big enough for my needs. The rear seats split and fold flat when need extra space. Excellent features in the Flair and park assist is useful. Very good qualityAudio system and display screen. Good connection for telephone calls( only gripe is cant seem to transfer my phone contacts??? ). As I havent owned it for long Ive given it 4 stars as unable to comment on economics of running the car but if the specs prove to be true etc... may well rate 5 in future.

Citroën C1 (2014-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Cute and quirky looks | Very small boot, even for a city car |
| Easy to drive and small enough to make parking a doddle | A VW Up is better to drive |
| Funky roll-top version | The Citroën's new car warranty is short compared with those offered by Hyundai and Kia |
Quick Summary
The Citroën C1 (2014-2020) is a cute and quirky city car developed through a collaboration between Citroën, Peugeot, and Toyota. The second-generation model features distinctive styling that appeals to urban drivers and younger motorists embarking on car ownership for the first time. A quasi-convertible Airspace variant with a cloth roll-back roof adds character. Inside, the cabin is basic with hard plastics and cloth seats, but all models except the entry-level Touch trim feature a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Powered by efficient three-cylinder petrol engines, the C1 delivers manageable fuel costs with both 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre units achieving over 65mpg officially and around 55mpg in real-world driving. CO2 emissions remain below 100g/km, resulting in very low road tax and insurance costs, making it ideal for younger and older drivers alike. The car is easy to manoeuvre in town with light steering and a tight turning circle, though it lacks refinement on faster roads. Servicing costs are reasonable, starting from around £120, with fixed-price packages available for older vehicles.
Best for: Urban drivers, first-time car buyers, younger motorists, and those seeking an affordable, easy-to-park city car with distinctive styling.
Not ideal for: Drivers needing a spacious boot, those prioritising driving dynamics, or buyers seeking an extended warranty comparable to Hyundai and Kia offerings.
Comparison vs Key Rivals
| Vehicle | CarGurus Expert Rating | CarGurus User Rating | Good/Great deals % | Overall CarGurus Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citroën C1 | 3/5 | 3.4/5 | 29.9% | 3.9/5 |
| Kia Picanto | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 33.9% | 4.3/5 |
| Hyundai i10 | 5/5 | 4.4/5 | 33.7% | 4.5/5 |
| MINI Countryman | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 34.1% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the C1 if: You're an urban driver, first-time car buyer, younger motorist, or seeking an affordable, easy-to-park city car with distinctive styling and low running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You need a spacious boot, prioritise driving dynamics, or require an extended warranty comparable to Hyundai and Kia offerings.
Competitive Position: The Citroën C1 (2014-2020) is a charming city car with distinctive design appeal and excellent affordability. However, it faces strong competition in the segment. Whilst the C1 excels in urban manoeuvrability and style, the Hyundai i10 offers superior driving dynamics and a higher overall rating, the Kia Picanto provides better value and warranty coverage, and the Volkswagen Up delivers more premium appeal. The C1 doesn't offer a compelling proposition in any single area compared to its rivals, though its quirky character and low costs make it worthy of consideration for budget-conscious urban drivers.
