Citroën C3 (2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Cool styling inside and out | Entry-level engine not great on pace or refinement |
| Comfy ride | Some ergonomic frustrations |
| Relatively affordable | Bare-minimum warranty arrangement |
Quick Summary
The Citroën C3 (2025) is a stylish and affordable entry-level supermini with an SUV-inspired stance. It offers surprising interior space for its compact four-metre length, with decent headroom and legroom for four adults. The car features a cheerful, well-designed interior with textured plastics and a practical 310-litre boot. Citroën's Advanced Comfort Suspension delivers an impressively plush ride, making daily driving comfortable and cosseting. Available with a turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine (98bhp) or a more refined hybrid variant (108bhp), the C3 prioritises comfort and affordability over outright performance.
Running costs are low, with the non-hybrid achieving up to 52.0mpg and the hybrid reaching 59.2mpg on official figures. Insurance sits in group 24 of 50, and annual VED is a flat £195. The infotainment system is straightforward but occasionally frustrating, whilst the square steering wheel and narrow rear door openings present minor ergonomic quirks. Despite these foibles, the C3 represents excellent value as a budget-conscious family car, offering style, comfort, and practicality at an accessible price point.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a stylish and comfortable small car, families needing practical daily transport, and those prioritising ride comfort over performance.
Not ideal for: Drivers wanting spirited performance, those requiring premium refinement, or buyers needing a spacious boot for regular long trips.

The Verdict
You should buy the C3 if: You're budget-conscious, seeking a stylish and comfortable small car, or need practical daily transport with an engaging interior design.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise spirited performance, require premium refinement, or need a spacious boot for regular long trips.
Competitive Position: The Citroën C3 (2025) is a compelling choice in the affordable supermini segment, offering superior styling and comfort compared to rivals like the Dacia Sandero. Whilst the Peugeot 208 edges ahead on expert rating and overall appeal, the C3 delivers better value and a more distinctive design. The entry-level engine lacks refinement, but the hybrid option provides a more relaxed experience. For budget-conscious buyers prioritising comfort and style over performance, the C3 is an excellent proposition that punches above its price point.

What people say
Lovely car, economic and quite modern looking. Lovely size for me
had the aircross C3 for 3 years and loved it. But needed something a touch smaller and cheaper, so went for the C3 hatchback. Much the same car. Looks the part, reliable and i hope to get 5/8 years out of it. Dont see why not. Nice drive as well.
Great little car, fully loaded with good useful tech and safety features. For the money I think you would be pushed to beat it. Citroen are always big on comfort and style, this little car doesnt disappoint, Smooth and quiet. Nippy and economical. comfortable on a long journey. Love it.
good value reversing sensors or reverse camera would be a good addition , very good mpg and zero road tax
ideal car for my needs. right size for town or country
