Citroën C3 (2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Cool styling inside and out | Entry-level engine not great on pace or refinement |
| Comfy ride | Some ergonomic frustrations |
| Relatively affordable | Bare-minimum warranty arrangement |
Quick Summary
The Citroën C3 (2025) is a stylish and cheerful budget supermini that trades traditional hatchback design for a raised SUV-like stance. Despite its compact footprint of just over four metres, it offers surprising interior space with decent headroom and legroom for rear passengers. The comfortable ride, courtesy of Advanced Comfort Suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, makes daily driving easy and relaxing. Boot space of 310 litres is adequate for day-to-day use, though expandable to 1,188 litres with the rear seats folded.
Available with a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in two states of tune—98bhp manual or 108bhp hybrid automatic—the C3 prioritises affordability over performance. The entry-level version is revvy and eager but noisy and underpowered, whilst the hybrid offers a more refined and relaxed experience. Running costs are low, with official figures of 52.0mpg for the petrol and 59.2mpg for the hybrid. Standard equipment is generous for the price, though the infotainment system is frustratingly difficult to navigate and the square steering wheel is an odd ergonomic choice.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a stylish, comfortable, and practical small car with low running costs and decent standard equipment.
Not ideal for: Those prioritising performance, refinement, or intuitive infotainment systems, or drivers who value traditional hatchback practicality over SUV-style aesthetics.

The Verdict
You should buy the C3 if: You're a budget-conscious buyer seeking a stylish, comfortable, and practical small car with low running costs and decent standard equipment.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise performance, refinement, intuitive infotainment systems, or traditional hatchback practicality over SUV-style aesthetics.
Competitive Position: The Citroën C3 (2025) is a compelling choice in the budget supermini segment, offering stylish design, surprising interior space, and a genuinely comfortable ride. Whilst the entry-level petrol engine lacks refinement and the infotainment system is frustratingly complex, the C3's affordability, low running costs, and generous standard equipment make it an excellent value proposition. It sits between the cheaper Dacia Sandero and the more premium Peugeot 208, offering a better balance of style, comfort, and practicality than its Dacia rival, whilst undercutting more expensive competitors.

Lovely car, economic and quite modern looking. Lovely size for me
had the aircross C3 for 3 years and loved it. But needed something a touch smaller and cheaper, so went for the C3 hatchback. Much the same car. Looks the part, reliable and i hope to get 5/8 years out of it. Dont see why not. Nice drive as well.
Great little car, fully loaded with good useful tech and safety features. For the money I think you would be pushed to beat it. Citroen are always big on comfort and style, this little car doesnt disappoint, Smooth and quiet. Nippy and economical. comfortable on a long journey. Love it.
