Citroen e-C5 Aircross (2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Comfortable interior | Ride can get unsettled on some roads |
| Really roomy | No heat pump on lower-spec models |
| Excellent value | Not as rapid as its rivals |
Quick Summary
The Citroen e-C5 Aircross is the fully electric second-generation of Citroen's family SUV, entering a competitive market against rivals like the Skoda Enyaq and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Despite replacing the previous model's individual sliding rear seats with a conventional bench, it boasts vast interior space, particularly impressive legroom, and a class-leading 651-litre boot. The cabin is noted for its high-quality finish and a large, user-friendly touchscreen infotainment system with intelligently designed, easy-to-access icons.
Available with two powertrains offering up to 421 miles of official range, its performance is adequate for daily driving rather than exhilarating. While its ride has become less "wafty" and can feel a bit wooden, especially in the heavier electric variant, it settles well on motorways. Crucially, the e-C5 Aircross offers extraordinary value, starting just over £32,000 after the government grant, making it a highly affordable and practical choice for families, though a heat pump is optional on lower trims.
Best for: Buyers on a budget seeking a spacious and practical family EV, those prioritising interior quality and value, and drivers who appreciate a user-friendly infotainment system.
Not ideal for: Those who demand the most supple ride comfort, blistering performance, or a heat pump as standard across all trim levels.

The Verdict
You should buy the e-C5 Aircross if: You're on a budget, seeking a spacious and practical family EV, appreciate a high-quality interior and user-friendly tech, or want excellent value in the electric SUV market.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise the most supple ride comfort, exhilarating performance, or require features like a heat pump as standard across all trims.
Competitive Position: The Citroen e-C5 Aircross (2025) stands out in the electric SUV segment for its exceptional value and generous interior space, including a class-leading boot. While its ride comfort might not match the "wafty" feel of its predecessor and performance is adequate rather than thrilling, its affordability, high-quality cabin, and practical design make it a compelling choice for budget-conscious families. It offers a strong challenge to rivals by delivering significant space and finish for a lower price point.

4.5 Overall rating
(4 reviews)Chose this over the Karok even though 3 people said no. You either love the styling or you dont. Extremely comfortable and economical. Loads of tech as you would expect with Citroën . Great value all round.
The 1.6 petrol we purchased a month ago is arguably the comfiest ride in a car Ive ever owned, its an automatic with plenty of spec even though its not the highest spec model. It is a well appointed vehicle for the money, the only downside for me is fuel consumption. Dont believe any of the figures that get passed around in their literature especially Citroens own. Im struggling to get 35 mpg and I drive it like a chauffeur ,but urban, combined or what ever they like to call it , thats all your gonna get. Other than that I really like it.
Great car with Citroen quality good design and shape outstanding
Fabulous car, best suspension i have seen, almost feels like car is floating over the bumps, great value for money.
