Chose this over the Karok even though 3 people said no. You either love the styling or you dont. Extremely comfortable and economical. Loads of tech as you would expect with Citroën . Great value all round.

Citroën C5 Aircross (2026) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Huge space for people and luggage | Really lacklustre to drive |
| Smart-feeling interior | Poor performance in the hybrid |
| Well-thought-out touchscreen | Refinement isn't great |
Quick Summary
The Citroën C5 Aircross is a spacious, well-equipped family SUV that offers exceptional value for money. With a starting price of just over £30,000, it undercuts rivals like the Volkswagen Tiguan by thousands of pounds whilst providing more boot space and rear legroom. The interior is thoughtfully designed with a floating touchscreen that prioritises simplicity, and the car comes generously equipped even in entry-level form. Running costs are reasonable, with real-world fuel economy of 40-45mpg and service intervals of 16,000 miles keeping ownership costs down.
However, the C5 Aircross disappoints dynamically. The mild hybrid engine is underpowered with a sluggish 0-62mph time of 11.2 seconds, whilst the revised suspension has sacrificed the old model's comfort without delivering better handling. The three-cylinder engine becomes raucous under load, and the automatic gearbox hunts for power. Despite ticking nearly every practical box, the C5 Aircross feels mediocre to drive, making it a car for those prioritising space and value over driving engagement.
Best for: Families seeking maximum space and value, those wanting a well-equipped interior with user-friendly technology, and buyers unconcerned with driving dynamics.
Not ideal for: Drivers prioritising engaging handling, those wanting a refined driving experience, or buyers seeking strong performance from the entry-level engine.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citroën C5 Aircross | 3/5 | 5.0/5 | 39.4% | 4.3/5 |

| Chery Tiggo 7 | 4/5 | N/A | 50.0% | 3.9/5 |
| Skoda Kodiaq | 4/5 | 4.8/5 | 37.0% | 4.4/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the C5 Aircross if: You're seeking maximum space and value, want a well-equipped interior with intuitive technology, or prioritise practicality over driving engagement.
Consider alternatives if: You value engaging handling, require a refined driving experience, or need strong performance from the entry-level engine.
Competitive Position: The Citroën C5 Aircross is an excellent value proposition in the mid-sized family SUV segment, offering more space and equipment than rivals at a significantly lower price. Whilst the Kia Sportage and Skoda Kodiaq deliver superior driving dynamics and refinement, the C5 Aircross compensates with exceptional practicality, a thoughtfully designed interior, and outstanding affordability. For budget-conscious families prioritising space over engagement, it represents a compelling choice, though those seeking a more rewarding drive should consider the Sportage or Kodiaq despite their higher cost.
