Picture of DS DS 3 (2016-2019) The DS 3 (formerly Citroen DS3) was an enormously popular little car in the UK, and it isn’t hard to see why. Here was a chic, cute small hatchback whose stylish exterior made it an appealing alternative to the MINI, yet it was available for considerably less cash, and offered more space inside. That logic still holds true today; while a DS 3 isn’t the last word in quality or driving excitement, it’s still a stylish small car that’s available for a very reasonable price.

I first experienced the ds3 in 2016 when I leased one for two years. It was the DS3 1.6 thp ultra prestige 165 hp. What a car. The sports suspension rides harder than usual but the benefits are tight cornering and a car that feels attached to the road. I never felt unsafe and acceleration was fast given it was not a hot hatchback. Everything was to hand and the sports seats gave good support. Critics moan about this car not being up with the mini or golf, its not meant to be it has its own character and I loved it.
