Ford Kuga 2026 review | The underdog family SUV

Although not a front-runner in the crowded and very competitive SUV marketplace, the Ford Kuga has plenty going for it. Now in its third generation and following a facelift in 2024, it’s packed with plenty of technology and safety features. Being a Ford, it’s also good to drive. While there’s no longer a diesel model following the facelift, the Kuga’s engine line-up is still a good one. It comprises a 1.5-litre petrol, a 2.5 hybrid with front- or all-wheel drive, and a 2.5 plug-in hybrid with front-wheel drive. The latter can cover between 37- and 42 miles on electric power alone. Rivals include the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Vauxhall Grandland, all of which offer up a strong case. So how does the Ford Kuga stack-up?

Excellent driving position and comfort.. the head up display extremely useful..all controls to hand and logical layout. Would prefer slightly better rear vision but the “hot spot” wing mirrors compensate well.

I personally think the Kuga is a great car I have had two of them from new run the first one for 3 years the one I have now is 4 years old and had no problems with the 2 of them I think for the money unbeatable
