A leftfield choice compared with the go-to Ford Transit, the Iveco Daily is especially well suited to transporting large, heavy loads. It uses a separate chassis and has a body bolted on top; that’s different from the majority of modern vans, which typically use an all-in-one structure. It has been that way since the Daily was originally launched in the late 1970s and is derived from Iveco’s background as a truck manufacturer. The most recent version arrived in 2014 and, although it isn’t as good to drive as a Transit or a VW Transporter, it is one of the largest panel vans on the market and does the rugged transport thing very well.
