Lots of small dents down passenger side of the car, appears to have been repainted on the passenger side as there's a lot of "orange peel" in the paint work compared to every other panel. Otherwise, appears to be a decent enough car

I love the look of the car and the way it drives,I wish it had fold down wing mirrors like my other sportage as I have a narrow drive. Also I had heated seats in my other sportage and none in this one. It was very good value and I love the colour.

Kia Sportage (2010-2016) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Practical interior | Some rivals are more polished to drive |
| Still looks good, even at more than a decade old | Some owners found problems with corrosion on alloy wheels |
| Big boot | 2.0-litre models with four-wheel drive are thirsty |
Quick Summary
The Kia Sportage (2010-2016), known as the mk3, is a stylish and well-equipped family SUV that looks more expensive than it actually is. Launched in late 2010, it offered modern styling, sophisticated design, and impressive standard equipment including air-conditioning and electric windows across the range. Available with front-wheel or four-wheel drive, manual or automatic transmissions, and a choice of petrol or diesel engines, the Sportage mk3 proved an instant success. Its extra height compared to rivals like the Vauxhall Astra gives it a commanding road presence and better visibility for occupants.
The Sportage mk3 boasts over 560 litres of boot space, excellent rear legroom, and a virtually flat rear floor for comfortable five-up travel. Engine options include a 133bhp 1.6 GDi petrol, 159bhp 2.0-litre petrol, and diesel units ranging from 114bhp to 181bhp. A 2014 facelift brought suspension, engine, and soundproofing improvements, making later models more refined. Running costs are reasonable, with real-world fuel economy ranging from 35mpg to 50mpg depending on engine choice. Insurance groups span 14 to 18, and servicing costs at independent garages are very reasonable. The Sportage mk3 comes with Kia's impressive 100,000-mile/seven-year warranty.
Best for: Family buyers seeking value, practicality, and stylish looks; those preferring the Sportage's appearance to newer rivals; drivers wanting a spacious SUV with strong standard equipment and reliability.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising the finest driving dynamics (like a Nissan Qashqai or Ford Kuga); those concerned about potential alloy wheel corrosion; drivers of 2.0-litre four-wheel drive models seeking excellent fuel economy.

| Honda CR-V | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 32.8% | 4.4/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Sportage if: You're seeking a practical, stylish family SUV with excellent standard equipment, strong reliability, and outstanding value for money.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise the finest driving dynamics, are concerned about potential alloy wheel corrosion, or require maximum fuel economy with four-wheel drive.
Competitive Position: The Kia Sportage (2010-2016) is a compelling choice in the used family SUV market, offering striking looks, impressive practicality, and excellent value. Whilst rivals like the Nissan Qashqai deliver superior driving dynamics and the Honda CR-V provides greater refinement, the Sportage's combination of style, spacious interior, big boot, and strong standard equipment make it highly attractive to budget-conscious family buyers. The 2014 facelift models offer enhanced refinement and comfort. Overall, the Sportage mk3 remains an excellent, sensible choice that punches above its price point.
