The Land Rover Freelander 2 was the company’s second crack at a compact 4x4. It picked up where the original Freelander left off in 2006, by being just posh enough to wear the Land Rover badge but not so upmarket as to encroach on the larger Discovery’s territory. It has a spacious and relatively practical cabin, is capable off road, and it’s great for towing. The downsides are that it’s expensive to run and reliability is not great. Rivals such as the Audi Q5, the BMW X3, and the Volvo XC60 are likely better day-to-day prospects in this respect, but they’re also unlikely to touch the Freelander 2 off-road.

(27 reviews)Having had 2 HSE models from 2007 to 2017 I found them to be excellent vehicles. I had no problems with them and they covered all the bases for my travel and passenger needs.
There not for everyone but if you want something reliable an 4wd you cant go wrong closest rival Nissan x trail
Having owned 2 from 2007 to 2017 I enjoyed reliability, comfort, good economy for its size and the pleasure of driving it. Replaced it with a (Freelander 3 )the Discovery Sport.
Roomy, comfortable, well made and a joy to drive. Car is equipped with all the bells and whistles that I need and hopefully will last a good few years.
Excellent car in every way. The only downside is my wife wont let me drive it.
