A three-door hatchback (and two-door convertible) that champions style and charm ahead of outright practicality, the MINI mk1 – known as the R50 – rams home the fact that small cars don’t have to be dull. It’s a hoot to drive and a visual pleasure to sit in (as long as you’re not an adult in the back). And when it was new, it could be ordered with a wealth of fun options and accessories that have now made their way to the used market.

I bought a mini cooper and I love it but its definitely a car you buy with your heart, they are problematic and expensive to maintain. More practical small cars in the price range. That said they are fun, cute and definitely a car you bond with
